On Tuesday, February 6, Connelly High School in Anaheim hosted 31 students and two teachers from Uekusa Bunka Girls High School in Chiba, Japan. The Japanese teachers and students were interested in learning more about our educational system and culture, and in turn, the Connelly students enjoyed learning about their schools and customs. Each Japanese student attended classes with a Connelly host student and joined the student body for lunch. The Japanese students performed several beautiful Japanese songs, and taught Connelly students how to fold Origami and how to say a few words in Japanese. In turn, the Connelly Women's Ensemble presented several selections for their enjoyment. This cultural exchange proved to be an enriching and enjoyable experience for everyone.
