On Wednesday, October 3, a bus delivered students from Connelly to the new Orange County Rescue Mission in Tustin. The students helped rake and clean, and relocated a huge pile of wood chips to cover the ground of the beautiful new playground for children. Each year, on All-School Service Day, over 350 Connelly students and faculty ride buses to prearranged locations throughout Orange County to lend a hand and serve the community. This year there were nine locations, including packing food for the hungry at The Community Action Partnership Food Warehouse in Garden Grove, a clean-up at Huntington State Beach, planting in the Bolsa Chica Wetlands, cleaning/pruning/weeding at two homes for Paint Your Heart Out in Anaheim, sorting and stocking at two St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shops in Anaheim and Orange, and packing food for the hungry at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange. Connelly's All-School Service Day is a long-standing tradition that reaches out to the community, and promotes values and community service.
