Career Day 2009
Posted on: February 11, 2009

February 11 was Career Day at Connelly.  Thirteen alumnae, all representing different professions, returned to Connelly to share insights into their chosen careers.  In a special morning schedule, students were able to participate in two programs of their choice, learn about a profession, and feel the connection with former Connelly students.  Sharing their careers, left to right (front) in the picture above: Connelly Director of Alumnae Relations Cheryl Anderson-Butler '85; Evangelina Savala '00 - Response-Ability, a Ministry of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus; Terri Serrato Engler '75 - LA Deputy District Attorney; Heather Schley Labow '88 - Criminal Defense Attorney; Shirlee Cachuela Oakley '88 - Non Profit Director/Wellness Coach-Educator/Corporate Marketing; Kristen Fujita Thomas '93 - Environmental Consultant; Julie Chang Olcott '94 - Artist; Sue Gesto '83 - District Sales Manager/Glaxo Smith Kline Pharmaceuticals; Tiffany Wallock Brosnan '89 - Attorney; (Back) Julia Collins Motherway  '86 - Physician/Internist; Joanne Daybrow Stone '79 - Paralegal/UCLA Instructor; Gabrielle Valenti '75 - Orthodontist/DDS; Naomi Coe '01 - Interior Designer; Chris Dausch Essex '85 - Speech Language Pathologist.  Connelly's annual Career Day is popular with the students and has proven to be a valuable tool in helping students plan for their futures.

"I teach at Connelly because this school empowers its students to become strong, confident thinkers in a joyous and happy learning environment. I have a special privilege to see God every day in the faces and actions of my students."
Michael Ambrose,
Math teacher

"I feel privileged to go to a school where I know everyone there cares about me and supports me. Connelly has helped me grow in my faith and build my confidence. I could not have picked a better school for high school."
Raynee, Class of 2013

"I had a pretty remarkable experience at Connelly. I think it was the catalyst for my university acceptance. I owe the rest of my life decisions and career choice to that experience at Connelly."
