Connelly prepares for a day of service to our community

In a Connelly tradition, Cornelia Connelly School will serve others on Oct. 12.
The Connelly community of students, parents, faculty, staff and alumnae will gather in the morning and Fr. Jerry Horan will preside at the Mass celebrating a founding date of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus. Then the students of Connelly will travel to five different sites to volunteer. Some will go to the gleaning fields to harvest vegetables that are sent to the Second Harvest Food Bank and then the same group of girls will go to the food bank to pack the boxes for the needy. Another group will go to the Orange County Food Warehouse to do the same. Some girls will go to the House of Hope for the Orange County Rescue Mission to help mothers and their babies. The last two groups will spend the day either cleaning Huntington Beach or planting on the Bolsa Chica Wetlands.
The group returns to campus at the end of their hard and productive day, to gather again in the auditorium for reflections and discussions about the day of service and assistance to others.
